Weather: Cloudy
Since Wu YunFei lied yesterday, the atmosphere between us became somewhat delicate.
He seemed to have realized that I had seen through his lies, as his whole person became much more silent than usual. Today, he didn’t even take the initiative to send me a single message.
This was what I had been hoping for since forever, but why did my heart feel so empty, as if something was missing?
○| ̄|_ He’s clearly the one in the wrong first, so why do I feel so guilty?!
Unable to bear it, I sent him a message asking what he was doing.
He took a while to reply to me, but when he did, it was with one word:
“Nothing.”
Is he…trying to pick a fight with me?
I thought about it carefully. In addition to me not picking him up from the bar that night, he also woke up in an unfamiliar hotel, so he must be feeling a little uncomfortable.
I roughly understand his feelings, but he’s not a girl so why is he being so careful?
The more I thought about it, the more I felt wronged.
Whenever he’d tease me, I would never utter even half a word of complaint. Now that I was playing a small joke on him, he went as far as to start a cold war…
So what if it’s a cold war? It’s not like we’ve never had any cold wars before. This time, I will not be the one to give in!1
Thinking of this, I silently turned on the “Do Not Disturb” function under his name in my address book, then continued on with my work.
I tried really hard to concentrate, but my thoughts always circled back to the sand sculpture.
For instance, why did he lie to me about the girls? And, why did the word “husband” leave his mouth that night?
I couldn’t help but turn to my secretary for advice, asking him under what circumstances would a grown man call someone else “husband”.
Perhaps my secretary thought I was messing with him. He hesitated for half a day before saying his thoughts, “I think there are three possible cases: one, that man wants someone to call him ‘husband’, but accidentally said it wrong; two, nowadays, fans would call their favorite idols husband or wife, and he’s fond of a male idol; or three, this man is gay…”
I immediately ruled out the third option.
I know Wu YunFei. He likes to fool around with young girls when he has nothing better to do–he’s definitely straight.
Between option one and option two, I thought the former was more likely. Considering his usual behavior, he probably wouldn’t be chasing stars.
I signed up for another Weibo account, wanting to see what this guy usually posted.
Hm… A majority of his posts were about eating, drinking, and playing. Occasionally, he’d remember his identity as a fashion blogger and upload fashion-related posts.
I wanted to see if he had praised any male artists, but I found out that, aside from my official Weibo posts, he only liked posts from girls…
Well, it seems like option two can also be ruled out.
This guy probably called a girl before he called me that night. As a result, she stood him up while I, the childhood friend, took the trouble to laboriously pick him up.
Emmm, I’m truly a good person, ah!
Translator’s Note:
1. 冷战就冷战!我们又不是没有冷战过,那次不是这家伙先服软!First part is more like, “Cold war is just cold war!” but it didn’t sound that good in English so I changed it. I’m not sure about the second and third part though. ↩
Naeda’s Log:
FY: Can this sand sculpture stop texting me? It’s really annoying.
WYF: (Doesn’t text FY for a day.)
FY: I was wrong. Forgive me, please. QAQ
