The sand sculpture wasn’t here when I came home today.
Did he finally make up his mind to roll back home?
Pulling out my phone, I intended to ask him what had happened before he suddenly called me first.
The other end of the line was chaotic, as if there was a sea of people talking all at once. Because of this, it took me a while to make out his voice.
His words were incoherent. Quite evidently, this guy had been drinking too much outside again.
I asked him what was going on. He said he needed a driver.
When I was about to ask him another question, he abruptly hung up without even saying a word of thanks.
That made me extremely upset!
While I was working hard all day, he was out playing and drinking!
Why?!
I didn’t want to care for him. However, after sitting in the room for a moment, I still grabbed my car keys and walked out of the house.
Drinking so much, what if he drunkenly slept with a woman?
My intuition told me that if that were to happened, he would definitely come crying to me for help.
Thinking of all the troublesome things that might happen in the future, I decided to cut the problem at the root and reluctantly went to pick him up.

When I finally arrived to the address he gave, I realized why this guy was making so much noise to leave.
At a glance, this bar was bustling with noise and excitement, but after careful observation, there was not a single girl in sight.
At first, I thought that it was my own misconception, so I asked a person if it was a men’s only show tonight.
As a result, the man burst out laughing and told me that it was a men’s only show every night.
Alright… It seemed like I misunderstood the sand sculpture; this time, he didn’t plan to chase girls—he just wanted to find a place to drink.
I sent him a message asking where he was, but he never responded.
Linking this to him suddenly cutting off the call a while ago, I suspected that his phone was dead.
With no other choice, I started to look for a needle in a haystack, trying to find the sand sculpture among a group of men.
This bar wasn’t big nor small.
I made a lap around the place, but still couldn’t find the sand sculpture. So, I decided to sit at the bar and “collect his corpse” when there were fewer people.
I had a strong hunch this guy was dead drunk by now.
Because I had to drive later, I asked the bartender for a glass of orange juice like a schoolboy.
Before the orange juice was handed to me, a voice nearby said, “Give him wine.”
Hehe. →_→ I didn’t even need to look back to know that it was the sand sculpture.
I told him I couldn’t drink as I was driving later.
Then, this guy actually asked me, “Drive what car?” and went straight into a room.
I gave him a once-over. His clothes were disheveled and his complexion was red.
To have this kind of appearance in a bar with no girls was amazing in its own right.
I told him to sit down and sober up, and that I would take him home when I finish drinking my orange juice.
“Oh,” was his reply. With a grin on his face, he flopped down beside me and fixed his eyes on my face.
I somewhat panicked under his intense gaze. To redirect his focus, I asked if he wanted some orange juice.
He shook his head and said I looked familiar.
Emmm, the two of us have known each other for more than twenty years, growing up from children to adults. It would be weird if I didn’t look familiar!
“What a coincidence. I also find you a little familiar,” I replied.
My intention was to calm him down, not do some kind of role-play.
However, he suddenly staggered closer to me, his eyes squinting at my face.
He was so close I could smell the alcohol in his breath.
Suddenly, my heart skipped a beat.
For some reason, although I clearly didn’t drink, I thought that this guy seemed a little coquettish, and I even had the urge to seize this moment and kiss him.
Of course, the idea left as soon as it came. I didn’t overstep my boundaries and quickly pushed him back to his seat.
“Can’t you be well-behaved and sit down for a while?” I asked.
This guy didn’t answer my question, laughing foolishly.
I sighed, helpless, and decided to first take this drunkard home before talking.
Although he wasn’t perfectly sober, his movements could still be considered normal. If he started going crazy later, I really wouldn’t be able to handle him.
As I was leading him out of the door, however, this guy began struggling like mad. He kept going on about how he couldn’t go out, and how he was waiting for his husband to pick him up.
What’s this all about?!
I felt the gazes of the people watching us and hated how I couldn’t just knock the sand sculpture unconscious and drag him away on spot.
“Wake up! You big old man, you don’t have a husband, ah!” I patted him, trying to make him sober.
“I do! We’ve been living together for a long time!” the sand sculpture insisted.
In order to not get taken out of the doors by me, he clung onto one of the decorative pillars of the bar.
I felt extremely embarrassed. Now it seemed like I was robbing an innocent man.
I could even sense the people around us covering their mouths, laughing.
QAQ I knew I shouldn’t have come! Now I’ve made a fool of myself!
There was nothing to be done. I could only cooperate with his play, and kindly asked him who his husband was.
If he said a name I knew, I would help him call the other party and ask them to bring the sand sculpture home.
This guy had been freeloading at my house for a good several days! I even thought of charging him for the food he ate!
He opened his mouth and murmured something, but because it was too noisy, I couldn’t hear him clearly.
“Your husband asked me to pick you up,” I said impatiently. “If you’re unwilling to follow me, book a room at the hotel next door and go back when you sober up.”
I still needed to go to work tomorrow. I really didn’t have time to spend with him. (T▽T)
