It’s the start of the weekend and I’m at home, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s just another day and place for me to work overtime. OTZ Just rip my heart out1

The sand sculpture is still at my place. He said he quarreled with his family over the issue of marriage again.

I don’t understand. This guy has good looks, and his family background is formidable. He’s also not too young, so why is he unable to find a marriage partner?

Also, didn’t he put me on his blacklist? Why did he come here to take refuge again?!

When I asked him what he was thinking, he told me he did blocked me that evening. After a night, however, he calmed down and silently unblocked me the next day.

Okay… If he didn’t say that, I would’ve never known he had actually blocked me.

In a blink of an eye, the time for lunch arrived. Since the aunt in charge of cooking and cleaning didn’t work on weekends, the two of us decided to eat hotpot at home.

It’s strange to say; the two of us grew up together, but our ideas of hotpot couldn’t be anymore different.

My ancestral home is in Beijing, so we would eat traditional Beijing copper hotpot2. In my opinion, only clear soup can bring out the most authentic taste of the ingredients.

But this guy is the exact opposite. Clearly, he can only handle a bit of spice, yet he likes to eat Sichuan and Chongqing’s chili oil hotpot3. According to him, hotpot needs to be spicy to be enjoyable, and clear soup hotpot has no soul.

→_→ Hehe, chili oil hotpot has a soul, alright. Every time he eats it, his soul looks as if it’s ready to fly out.

When I first moved in, in order to frequently come over and freeload meals, he specifically bought me a “Mandarin Ducks” hotpot4 as a moving gift.

At that time, although I thought that the gift was a little tasteless, my heart was still very happy, and I gave him a copy of my house keys in return.

Ai… The water in my head then5 is now the tears running down my heart.

As we ate hotpot, I asked him what happened to that Japanese girl.

He said he didn’t have any ideas about her. He just thought she was very cute and wanted to talk to her, maybe even learn more about Japan along the way.

I asked him why he was suddenly so interested in Japan.

He answered it was because I abandoned him a few years ago for the country, leaving for so long I almost had a Japanese girlfriend. He wanted to know what was so attractive about that place.

After he said that, he looked at me and rolled his eyes.

He told me he had no problems looking for a lover; he absolutely wasn’t interested in being the third party of a relationship.

Hehe. →_→ Since he’s so confident, why has he never had a proper girlfriend? He runs to me all day long, but I can’t just magically create a girlfriend for him…

I asked him what girls were his type and told him I could help keep an eye out for him. In this end, he hemmed and hawed, but couldn’t come up with anything.

Just as I was about to give up and focus on eating hotpot, he suddenly told me that he liked the smart type.

Smart? How can a smart girl like a sand sculpture like him?

I asked if he felt like his IQ was insufficient and needed somebody intelligent to make up for his genetic defect.

He said intelligent people had more in common with him.

Alright. ( ╯□╰ ) This guy’s perception of himself was too inaccurate. I couldn’t argue with him…

Then, I asked if he had any additional conditions, like if he had any requirements for appearance, family background, and so on.

After a while of thinking, in a serious voice, he told me his partner had to have a good character, money in their home, and be good-looking and knowledgeable.

Emmm, this guy’s requirements are too unrealistic! (╯=□=)╯︵┻━┻

I suddenly wanted to send him to heaven to see God. After all, only God knows such a perfect and blind heavenly maiden.

Translator’s Notes:

1. Literal: heart plug
Here’s a cute(?) pic:

2. 打小吃的就是铜锅涮肉 This part is roughly translated.

3. Looks something like this but less intense:

4. hot pot with a divider; one side is for a spicy soup while the other is for a mild soup (Also, mandarin ducks symbolize lifelong couples.)

5. water in head = foolish thinking

Naeda’s Log: I’m waiting for the day Feng Yao’s words–“Smart? How can a smart girl[person] like a sand sculpture like him?”–comes back to bite him.
