Weather: Clear Skies

Every time I see this guy, the same sentence pops to mind: God has sent an idiot to test me again.

Today was New Year’s Day. It stands to reason that everyone should take advantage of this opportunity and properly relax, but this guy walked the opposite direction of the crowd. On the first day of the new year, he ran over to my place and begged me to teach him Japanese.

The reason is simple: he recently hooked up with a Japanese girl, and in order to better communicate his feelings for her, he decided to studiously learn Japanese.

At a glance, there seems to be no problems with his request, but the matter crumbles upon further consideration.

First, what does him fooling around with a Japanese girl have anything to do with me? (十▔皿▔)凸 Why should I sacrifice my precious vacation time to teach him Japanese?

Second, learning a new language is not something that happens overnight. Why must he pick New Year’s Day to learn? ( ̄_ ̄|||) Isn’t it better to go to cram school himself and study for a while?

Third, him managing to hook up with a Japanese girl is proof that the other can speak Chinese… There’s already a common language of communication between them, so why must he feel the need to do something so bothersome? OTZ

However, this guy’s brain circuits have always been different from other people’s…

Deciding to silently swallow down my thoughts, I suggested he go watch some Japanese romance dramas with dog food1

Anyway, this guy’s enthusiasm for things were always short-lived. I estimated that after watching two dramas, he would lose interest in learning Japanese.

Sure enough, after listening to my suggestion, this guy’s first reaction was to accuse me of finding this matter troublesome and not wanting to teach him.

His intuition was really keen, ah; he immediately saw through my thoughts.

Of course, I would never admit it.

I found myself a sound reason and told him that if he watched Japanese romance dramas, he would not only learn how to flirt in Japanese, but also how to pick up girls.

If that girl happened to be following the same drama, he could use this as an opportunity to converse with her. Overtime, they might even become close friends who tell each other everything.

This guy was instantly fooled by me. Full of joy and expectations, he went online and began searching up Japanese dramas.

But…there seems to be something wrong…

Does this guy not have internet at home?! Why is he currently watching dramas in my house?!

I’m really…super unhappy!!!!!!

Translator’s Notes:

1. a couple’s PDA in front of single dogs = dog food

Naeda’s Log:

Not really a spoiler but just in case: Though it’s not his fault, keep in mind that our Feng Yao (gong) is an unreliable narrator. Take the things he mentions about the sand sculpture/YunFei (shou) with a grain of salt.

Never really dealt with first-person tense shifts so please correct me if you find any mistakes. ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔ
